FCT Assembly has developed AO2000 Anti-Oxidant pellets to aid in reducing the solder dross buildup in both static and wave soldering pots. AO2000 pellets are lead free and are ideal for use with the high drossing SAC alloys and 63/37 tin/lead. Dross buildup can seriously affect the wetting abilities of the solder and can cling to component leads when they are removed from the bath. Use of AO2000 pellets also will reduce the loss due to dross formation, which can reduce solder usage by as much as 50%. AO2000 pellets are added to solder bath at the prescribed level and within a short time the oxides rise to the surface and can be removed. This leaves a surface protected by a thin, colorless film that will reduce further dross formation. No oxide remains on the solder surfaces, which stay, smooth and shiny. AO2000 Anti-Oxidant pellets will protect a solder bath up to temperatures of 350°C.

Applications
For static solder pots up to 350°C: To establish the initial protection level, add 5 grams per pound of solder in the solder bath. Maintain the level of control by adding 5 more grams for every pound of solder added to the pot. For wave solder pots and static solder pots above 350°C: To establish the initial protection level, add 15 grams per pound of solder in the solder bath. Maintain the level of control by adding 15 more grams for every pound of solder added to the pot.

Packaging
AO2000 Anti-Oxidant Pellets are packed in 250 gram plastic bottles.
